Spotify is the new iTunes

December 9, 2008

Lately I have started using Spotify, just like anyone else. I love finding new inspiring music and and artists. It took me a while to get an invite though, and its a bit annoying that I cant transfer the songs to my ipod.

For those of you who don’t already know, Spotify is “the new iTunes” which lets you stream music online and free (with ads). Theres tons of music in there, but some big artists are missing (like Pink Floyd!)

I always listen to music when Im being creative. And I’ve done a playlist named “creative” - If you’ve got Spotify you can listen to it by clicking here: Creative playlist by Naero - the playlist will be updated constantly. For security reasons, I can’t make it a collaborative playlist, but feel free to give me some music tips!

PS. I happen to have TEN (10) invites that I will give away, so ask nicely and I might actually give you one! Remember to leave your email.

And here is a screenshot of the application!

Workshop with Patrik Berg

November 24, 2008

Our new module is called Visual Communication and concentrates on design work. Finally! I’ve been looking forward to this module as I’ve been longing to do some design assignments again.

At this workshop, we got to smell on hermetic dead fishes and then associate to a word and three colors. These associations would later be used to do a CD Cover within 1,5 hours. Everyone presented their work and then we analyzed the different pieces as a group afterwards. Since I have already studied graphic design this stuff was kind of basic to me, but I expect more advanced feedback later on!

Anyways, here’s my result from this workshop:

Experience Technology part two

October 27, 2008

The ET module is now over, and Im very satisfied with our results. Our final product was not perfect, but hey we had less than four weeks to do this project. The basics of our product worked nice, even though our arduino chip and our sensors was a bit too sensitive to noise caused by surroundings and my MBP charger (!)

Our highscore-list didnt work, so we had to write a manual one, but except from that we had real fun and we got good feedback and lots of interest in our product. At one point during the expedition, I was asked about the “under the hood” technology by four people at the same time, WHILE I was doing some bug issues in flash. But it was fun. I am glad its over now though, its been a few busy weeks. You can still read the details about our product at the group blog

Here’s a few action photos!

Experience Technology part one

October 16, 2008

It’s technology time at Hyper now, and we’ve got four weeks to do something cool with a given tech-kit. My group got the Arduino chipset, which basically is a little hardware-platform for controlling sensors and so on. We are running it together with a flash application, and our concept is this:

We’re doing an interactive punching bag with vibration sensors to measure your strength. And whats so cool about this? Well, our punching bag has the voice of an insulting irish pub-crawler. He gives you rude comments on your performance, and really makes you want to hit the bag! I think this is gonna be a fun concept, and our prototype is supposed to be finished by monday!

We are in the process of testing the sensors inside the bag, and we are also doing a really solid stand. It will be ready by monday. I will give you an update on this later on, but if you would like to read more, we have created a blog for this project. There you can read more about the character inside our punching bag!

Heres a few photos from the past weeks!

Apartment and Motion week

September 9, 2008

So we finally got an apartment here in Stocholm. Its 36 square and it’s about 10 minutes away from Hyper Island. Our furnitures will probably get here by the end of next week, and so will Jannicke! So I’m really excited about this =)

And this is the motion week at hyper. We’re having workshops in Flash and After Effects by former hyper students currently working at B-Reel, Perfect Fools and Acne, and yesterday I did this little clock-thing in flash.. I might update this post with some more work by me and others later on :)

Click here to see my flash clock

So, yeah.. Just wanted to tell you this. I’ll show you some new images when our furnitures has been placed :)

As you can see, there's not any furnitures here yet.. We might get them next week!

First weeks at Hyper Island

August 31, 2008

So, the first weeks at hyper island is over, and we’ve done lots of interesting stuff. First off was the UGL (Understanding Group Leadership) course, and to shorten down a long story, I got sick and ended up in the hospital with 40,2 Celsius fever and a resting pulse at 120. This means I have to redo the UGL course, possibly at an intern school in Skåne.. Yay!

Then we had the teambuilding trip. We went to a military-like camp on an island about two hours outside Stockholm, and we slept in an old red bulding. We did lots of small assignments, mostly in groups, but the best thing was the volleyball-sessions between our courses :)

After that it was time for our first “real” week at Hyper, and we’ve had lots of exciting lectures about future trends and the business. Delhaize Group visited us for a workshop. They came all the way from Belgium and the US to take advantage of our creative minds! And we got to be creative and ask them lots of questions about leading big companies and so on. The workshop also made me imagine my future office! I might draw a sketch once to show you…

And yeah, we still don’t have an apartment :/

First days in Stockholm

August 10, 2008

We still haven’t got an apartment, and it freaks me out a bit. There is about 200 interested people on each apartment, and its kind of hard to stand out in the crowd. I know people prefer to have 50-year old single women in their apartment. And I can understand that! I know if I had an apartment for rental, I would prefer the same…

Me and Jannicke is moving to stocholm as a couple. We do not smoke and we do not have any animals. Still though, we’re in our early twenties, and we’re being judged by that I think…

Björns apartment i Flemmingsberg

Thanks to Björn Blomquist, me and Ina is staying at his apartment in Flemingsberg! Also thanks to Ina for letting me use her Sigma 10-20mm lens :)
